Poetry- I see you

I see you swallowed by the darkness.
Succumbing to its weight.
Dragged under by it’s current,
Left broken in its wake.

I see you lock away your heart.
In the hopes you can be free.
Free from all the voices,
That refuse to let you be.

I see you hollow, burnt to ash.
Silenced by life’s lies.
But in my mind you find yourself,
as a Phoenix free to fly.
