Poetry to Ignite the Mind and Stir the Soul: Back against the door

I wrote this poem for the national poetry competition last year. I didn’t win. But I wondered if sharing it could do some good. This poem was inspired by a couple of nights I spent as a child sleeping against the bedroom door afraid that my sister and I would not make it to morning. We were lucky others aren’t. This Mother’s Day spare a thought for those children who through no fault of their own won’t know a mother’s love. I was scared to put this out there but others have a lot more to be afraid of. Please donate https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/alison-aderyn because some children won’t make it though the night. #nspcc #motherlesschild #donate #thankyou
